Cheeseburger Pizza

Cheeseburgers, Cheeseburger Soup, Cheeseburger Quiche – all favorites in our house.  Now let’s combine the taste of a cheeseburger with another family favorite: pizza.  Instead of a traditional pizza sauce, the crust is slathered with a combination of Italian seasoning, ketchup and mustard.  If that doesn’t scream cheeseburger, wait until you top the pizza with sliced pickles!

Cheeseburger Pizza
Serves 6

1 pound extra lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 tube (11 ounces) refrigerated thin pizza crust
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown mustard
2 tomatoes, chopped
1-1/4 cups shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Sliced pickles

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.  In a large skillet, cook the first five ingredients over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.

Unroll dough into a 10x15-inch baking sheet lined with parchment paper.  Bake for 7-10 minutes or until golden brown.

In a small bowl, combine the Italian seasoning, ketchup and mustard.  Spread onto the baked crust.  Top with beef mixture, tomatoes and cheese.  Top with sliced pickles.

Bake 6-10 minutes longer or until edges are lightly browned and cheese is melted.
